REFLECTION. Some say an embryo is too small to have human rights. But rights do not depend on size.
Do men have more rights than women because they are generally larger? Are shorter people to enjoy fewer protections than tall people? The size of a person has nothing to do with his or her value.

PRAYER. O God, You have dominion over all things great and small, and have created a vast variety of life. May we reverence the very smallest of our brothers and sisters.

Idaho SB 1270

Last Friday SB 1270 was introduced by Senators Winder, Fulcher and Heinrich and then sent to the State Affairs Committee. This legislation would protect the conscience rights of all medical professionals in Idaho in these specific areas:

• Abortion
• Dispensing abortifacients, like RU-486 and “Emergency Contraception”
• Human Cloning
• Embryonic stem cell research
• Euthanasia and assisted suicide

Senate bill 1270 would make it illegal to discriminate against licensed health care professionals who refuse to participate in any of these acts.
